How long does it take for a biodegradable urn to dissolve?

Urns can take anywhere from 1 month to 6 months to fully dissolve into the ground. Water urns will dissolve in a matter of hours. Our earth urns are designed to naturally compose over time, the rate at which this occurs will depend on a few factors including bury depth, soil moisture and the urn design.

What are the Laws on Burying Ashes?

When it comes to burying ashes and choosing a location, there are a few things to take note of before you plan on the location.
Burying the ashes at a crematorium or church is the most straight forward approach, your funeral director will be able to facilitate this for you.
You are also free to bury the ashes at your home, as this is your land, it is worth noting that this might not always be your home, so planning a visit in the future might be troublesome.
Private land is obviously at the discretion of the landowner, which you will need permission for.
Local authorities encourage people away from bury ashes in public parks and gardens for obvious reasons. If there is a particularly special reason or spot in a public place, then you are advised to contact your local authority.
Finding a secluded place in the countryside is probably the best solution for burying in the open, as you are less likely to be bothered and a small ceremony may be suitable, it will also be a place where you can visit in the future.
