- The cremation rate in the UK was 80.46% in 2025 (provisional), after 80.20% in 2024
England, Wales, Isle of Man & Channel Islands = 83.23%, Scotland = 71.15% & Northern Ireland = 25.09% (2025, provisional) - The busiest crematorium in 2025 was Andover with 20,079, as returned to the Cremation Society. That is far above any other crematorium (the next busiest, Bretby, had 3,699), so treat it with caution
- The most expensive crematorium in 2026 is Harwood Park (£1,550)
- The cheapest crematorium in 2026 is Belfast (£440)
- The average crematorium fee in the UK is £1,059.49 in 2026 (up 4.67% vs £1,012.19 in 2025)
- The average cost of a direct cremation in the UK is £1,628 and of a simple attended funeral (cremation or burial) £3,828
- There were 527,511 cremations in the UK in 2025 (provisional) across 335 crematoriums.
- On average there were 2,021 cremations every weekday in 2025 (527,511 cremations across the 261 weekdays of the year)
